A Port Harcourt based Chartered Accountant and Chief Executive Officer of Cafajuc Investments Limited, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna has stated that the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Dr. Alex Otti has all it takes to fix the challenges facing Abia State.
Speaking to our correspondent in his office on Wednesday, Ogbonna said the Labour Party’s governorship candidate had the capacity, experience, courage and zeal to reposition Abia for greatness, adding that the level of decay in the State required someone with strong fiscal discipline to ensure that wastages were reduced to the barest minimum.
He pointed out that Otti’s training and exposure to best practices in financial matters have prepared him adequately for the task of addressing the various deprivations Abia has suffered in many areas of human endeavour.
Ogbonna, who is from Owaza Community in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, expressed confidence in the abilities of the former bank Executive to identify avenues that would increase the internally generated revenue of Abia to facilitate prompt payment of workers’ salaries.
He described the lack of good road infrastructure as a major setback to business development in Abia State.
Ogbonna also used the opportunity to appeal to the people of Ukwa West in particular and Abia State in general to rally round the ambition of Dr. Alex Otti to pull the State out of its present economic doldrums.
“I am optimistic that Abia in the hands of Otti would rise again.”, he concluded.
