Present Abia APC Power Sharing Favours Ukwa To Produce Deputy Governorship Candidate – APC Chieftain

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Ezedinachi Kanu, has advocated that the Ukwa political bloc should produce a running mate for the Governorship candidate of the party in Abia State, High Chief Ikechi Emenike.

He stated categorically that the present arrangement in Abia APC that has the Chairman from Abia North, the Governorship candidate from Abia Central recommends the picking of a Deputy Governorship candidate from Abia South, adding that the spirit of equity, fairness and justice plays up the choice of an Ukwa person for the position.

In a chat with Newsportal, Kanu, who recalled that he had made similar call during the visit of the State Chairman of the party, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu to Ukwa, highlighted the fact that the Ngwa political bloc that shares Abia South with Ukwa has produced Deputy Governor for the State at various times, and also occupies the office presently.

He appealed to the leadership of the party to take into cognizance the fact that Ukwa remains the goose that lays the golden eggs for Abia State, stressing that the membership of the party in the area has continued to grow to the amazement of the ruling party in the State.

Kanu said, “If our population is not impressive to the party or scars the party, it should consider our oil and heed to our passionate demand”

  1. This is a clarion call that deserves immediate consideration most especially when the people of Ukwa has seasoned and qualified people who have been faithful to the party APC even since the CPC days.

I crave the indulgence of his excellency to call for the profiles of Ukwa APC party members, consider and pick his deputy from Ukwa.
