Stakeholders of the Ukwa West chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have resolved to continue to remain in the party notwithstanding the issues that have been threatening its unity.
In a meeting held at Obehie, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, on Monday, the stakeholders, who were drawn from the three zones that make up the local government area, dissociated themselves from party members who were making moves to defect to other political parties, stressing that there was strong need for party members to remain focused and work towards winning the forthcoming general elections.
The meeting, which was convened by the State Legal Adviser of the Abia State APC, Barrister Levi Isiguzo, resolved, among others, to work assiduously towards delivering the Ukwa West Local Government Area to the APC, and to support whoever emerges as the candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.
The meeting also noted that the decision of the party at the National Level which has recognised Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu as the Chairman of the party in the State stands until there is any contrary development either from the Court or the new National leadership of the APC.
On the declaration of interest by Dr. Kasarachi Enyinnah, who is their son, to contest for the governorship of Abia State, the Stakeholders agreed to give him maximum support to achieve his ambition.
Present at the meeting were; Chief George Nwancha, Mr. Ibe Nworgu, ThankGod Ntaku, Barrister Levi Isiguzo, Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri and Dr. Kasarachi Enyinna.
Others were; Apostle Abraham Isiguzo, Ihuoma Dike, Azuogu Emeruwa, Emeka Vincent, Onyenkwere Adiele, Steve Adindu Nwankwo and Nkemdirim Onyeike.
