Former aspirant for the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State, Kasarachi Michael Enyinna, has declared his intention to contest for the Governorship seat of the State.
In his speech during the declaration ceremony which held at Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State on Sunday, Enyinna said he decided to succumb to pressures from Abians to contest for the number one seat in the State, adding that the experiences he gained from the private and public sectors inside and outside Nigeria had prepared him to steer the affairs of Abia if given the opportunity.
He said:
“As we all know, Abia State, which is known as God’s own state, has been deprived of the dividends of democracy not by the governed but the government at the State level, due to poor and weak leadership. However, it is not late to change the fortune of the state by bringing on board purposeful, credible, responsive and people oriented leadership that will meet the yearnings and aspirations of Abians.”
Enyinna outlined his achievements in the State to include women and youth empowerment programmes, sponsorship of Sporting activities and free medical outreaches to indigent citizens of the State.
He said he understood the pains of people at the grassroots, stressing that he was connected to them.
“Without understanding the problem, you cannot proffer solutions. With a good understanding of the challenges faced by Abians, I am equipped with the right skills to improve the common lots of the people.”, he added.
