Ahead of its inauguration, the Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu Suppprt Group, AATSG, Abia State chapter, on Thursday, at the Abia Hotels, Umuahia, Abia State resolved to give the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the necessary support to ensure that he gets the ticket of the party.
Speaking at the well attended meeting, the Zonal Secretary, South East, High Chief Oxford Wabara, stressed the urgent need for Abia State to join mainstream politics by massively supporting Tinubu, whom he described as the most qualified to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We in Abia State heard that some others said they also want to be President. The truth of the matter is that someone who is more experienced, someone who has been out of government since 2007 but has remained highly politically relevant up till now is the one that should be supported, and that person is Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Wabara described Tinubu as a man with charisma, adding that his leadership qualities have endeared him to the people of Nigeria.
“As a result, we Abians are saying that it is Tinubu and only Tinubu that we know and we shall support him for President. It is Tinubu because of who he is, the charisma he carries, his exceptional leadership acumen, which we all know will benefit Abia State and the South East in general.
The Abia State Coordinator of the group, Prince Chris Agbai, Secretary, Hon. Zeal Nwaogu, Women Coordinator, Hon. Ifeyinwa Kalu, Organising Coordinator, Chaplain Nwachukwu, Treasurer, Hon. Christy Nwoke, who spoke on the occasion, expressed their willingness and preparedness to work towards mobilising the Abia people, particularly those in the APC to ensure that Tinubu becomes the flag presidential flag bearer of the party.
Other prominent leaders of the group, who spoke in the same vein were the Abia Central Administrator, Dr. Imeremba Fidelis and the Abia North Administrator, Hon. Emma Eke.
The Group disclosed that the formation of AATSG structures across the 17 LGAs, Wards and Polling Units of Abia State is already in place.
