The turbaning, today, of the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi by the Daura Emirate Council has received a boost as President Muhammadu Buhari is to send a delegation of three to represent him at the event.
The delegation is made up of the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Adamu, the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
It should be recalled that former Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Silas Jonathan Zwingina had said the planned recognition of Amaechi was not politically motivated but borne out of merits and the outstanding performance and leadership qualities of the Minister.
In a statement issued by Garba Shehu, President Buhari described the conferment of the title of “Dan Amana,” (the trusted one) to Amaechi as a clear commitment to the harmonious relationship among the nation’s diverse cultures.
He commended the Minister “for working with enormous energy to make the CHANGE we promised Nigerians a reality,” noting that “the change we are witnessing in the transport sector is an extraordinary legacy.”
