A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia state, Engr Alozie Mac Solomon has accused the National Reconciliation Committee of the APC led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu of favouratism and compromise on the Abia APC matter that is before the Committee.
Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia, Solomon alleged that the Reconciliation Committee had tilted towards the Hon. Donatus Nwankpa led Abia APC because of the long standing relationship of its Chairman with the Chief whip of the Nigerian Senate and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
He noted that any person heading a reconciliation committee of a ruling political party should approach his assignment with caution and tact, instead of resorting to primordial sentiments.
Solomon said Adamu had erroneously referred to High Chief Ikechi Emenike as the complainant, while briefing journalists in Abuja, even when Emenike did not write any petition to the National Reconciliation Commitee.
He said Emenike submitted a written response to the Committee wherein he stated that the petitions written by Kalu’s group were baseless, riddled with lies and ill -will and, urged the Committee to treat same as baseless with lack of merit.
He, therefore, called on the leadership of the Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC to be wary of any report that will be submitted by the Admau led Reconciliation Committee, and to verify it thoroughly as there are already indications of favoritism, partiality and compromise on the part of the Reconciliation Committee’s leadership, based on the Chairman’s known long standing relationship with Kalu.
