The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has stated that the body that calls itself the Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in Diaspora, AESID, that caused publications to be made by some sections of the Nigerian media that Nigeria won’t survive one week under Engr David Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State, is non-existent.
It described the publication as jaundiced, and paid for by opposition elements, as it is laced with hatred, lies and acrimony.
In a press statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Ebonyi State, Ogbuatu Chidi Simbad, described the publication as jaundiced, and paid for by opposition elements, as it is laced with hatred, lies and acrimony.
The statement reads,
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress APC Ebonyi State has been drawn to a lousy and contemptuous publication published by one Jacob onjewu Dickson on January 14th January, 2022 in some media sections and credited the same to one Amb Paschal Oluchukwu, the self acclaimed President of a fictitious Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in Diaspora (AESID). We are not ignorant of the fact that the jaundiced publication was fully paid for by the opposition elements, looking at the fact that it is laced with sheer hatred, lies, fake news, acrimony, above all, malignant indignation against the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr Chief Dr David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE, and his government.
” It is quite unfortunate that a group of individuals who claimed to have originated from Ebonyi State would be so mischievous, treacherous, and offered themselves as disgruntled and ungrateful agents to discredit the sterling qualities and people’s oriented leadership of the governor who has rewritten our ugly history as a people and as a state, considering the fact that he has placed Ebonyi State on the world map through aggressive infrastructural and human development. Evidence abounds that the six years of optimal performance of the wonder working governor overshadows the previous 19 years of the state’s existence before he took over in 2015 as the governor of the state. For us in APC, any Ebonyi man that condemns Gov Umahi’s administration is not only visually impaired but should also go for differential diagnosis.
“The reference to the communal crises in some parts of the state as a reason why Gov Umahi should not aspire to be Nigerian President has undoubtedly presented the said members of AESID as not only fictitious but as people whose cognitive domains have been whimsically pejorated. May I remind these masked enemies of Ebonyi State that Gov Umahi as the Chief Security Officer of Ebonyi State has prioritized the security of lives and property of Ebonyi residents. He has colossally and evidently done so much to guarantee the safety of Ebonyi people and their property. The Governor has incontrovertibly employed different and unique conflict resolution mechanisms towards resolving the crises that erupted in some parts of the state, including the arrest of suspected principal sponsors of the crises, setting different peace committees, suspension from office with salaries of government officials from the affected areas and other mechanisms.
“Today, the crises have been significantly and technically managed and normalcy is gradually returning to the areas. Be that as it may, communal crises are not peculiar to Ebonyi State, neither did it originate in Umahi’s government (Note that most of this crises are over 100years). Crises among communities have been there, even some other parts of the country, and they will continue to be there so long there are human inhabitants. What is consequential is the manner in which they are managed. On the five missing NELAN contractors, the APC led government under Chief Umahi has taken bold steps in unraveling the true circumstances surrounding their disappearance. Police is fully involved in the investigation and has issued official statement about it. It is indecorous of a person or a group of persons to still speak on or play inconsequential politics with such a heartbreaking circumstance or accuse the government of the ugly situation so as to score cheap political goal even when the Chief Security Officer of the State and our Presidential aspirant, His Excellency, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi in his recent interview with TVC channels gave a true and vivid explanations of the huge commitement himself and the Ebonyi State Government has put in place.
“Chief Umahi has paid honest attention to critical sectors in the state with tectonic evidence. The education system has been transformed, new schools built. King David Gifted Children Academy and David Nweze Umahi University of Medical Sciences Uburu are first class academic institutions in the country with classic state of the art facilities. Gov Umahi introduced one man, one hectre in the state agricultural sector, a system that has presented Ebonyi State as the second rice producing state, this is in addition to the mechanised agriculture invented by his administration. Our General hospitals and health centres have been upgraded and well equipped by Umahi’s administration to meet the health demands of our people. Ebonyi State Civil service has been adjudged the best as Ebonyi civil servants receive their 13th salary yearly and their salaries paid on or before 15th of every month. Gov Umahi increased the workers salaries less than a year that he assumed office as the Executive Governor, a gesture that earned him a chieftancy title of Enyi Ndi Oru 1 of Ebonyi State (Meaning friend of Worker).
“Gov David Nweze Umahi is a Godsent to Ebonyi State. Ebonyi State under his administration has become a centre of attraction with social amenities that cannot be seen in other parts of Nigeria. He is qualified to take the country to another level, we the All Progressives Congress APC Ebonyi State have no doubt in the capacity and capabilities of this honest leader and as such, any person or group of persons that will try to misinform the public about our leader will receive the stiffest resistance of Ebonyi State APC family. Umahi is coming with rejuvenation, reinvigoration, transformation and reintegration. It is on this premise that over 50 support groups emerged in support of his declaration to contest and over 40 men and women of eminently personalities sent in their good will messages barely 48 hours he made his intention known.
“We are not surprised that opposition and attacks are coming from presumed Ebonyians, they are cowed by the speedy rising of Chief Umahi’s political profile, we do not shiver neither do we waiver. We rather wish to inform the general public that the said Amb Paschal Oluchukwu and his group are impersonators who do not exist anywhere as Ebonyi Citizens living outside. Nigerians are happy with Chief David Umahi for what he is doing in Ebonyi State. We therefore, call on the general public to disregard the faceless and petty elements who are not known to Ebonyi people but have decided to work as invisible oppositioin elements to distract the God chosen Nigerian President come 2023. Let us support him for a better Nigeria”.
