Some members of the Ukwa East / Ukwa West Federal Constituency in Abia State, on Monday, were feted by a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sir Marc Wabara.
Speaking during the event, Wabara, who noted that those present did not exhaust the number of leaders in the Federal Constituency, said even though there have been some issues in the party that have affected some members negatively, there was need for Ukwa APC to come together to fight their collective cause.
He said, “we are also here today to discuss our concerns as key stakeholders of the party.
“Our personal interests should not overide our collective interest. We need to collectively forge ahead in this present political dispensation with a view to achieving what is due to Ukwa”.
He stressed that no political bloc was as marginalised as Ukwa Federal Constituency in Abia State, adding that it would not be good for some stakeholders to work against the interest of Ukwa APC.
He said, “time has come for us to put away personal interests and let Ukwa agenda be Paramount in our hearts”.
On the crisis in the Abia State APC, he expressed confidence in the leadership at the National level to harmonise all the interests in the party in order to bring about a stronger and more united APC.
