A Youth body in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, the Ozar Zone Presidential Youth Forum, has commended Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, the General Manager of Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (ASOPADEC), Venerable Dr. Joshua Onyeike and Ukwa West Mayor, Pst. Dike Nwankwo for their outstanding developmental strides since they assumed office.
In a statement released on Friday, October 17, 2025, after a strategic meeting at the country home of the Forum’s leader in Ikpokwu-Asa, and jointly signed by the leader, Arc. Victor Enyioko (Arc Don Best), President, Comrade Akobundu John and Secretary, Comrade N. U. Jasper, the Youth body described the appointment of Onyeike by the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, as an answer to the cries of marginalisation by the people of Ukwa West.
According to the Group, the ASOPADEC GM has justified the trust placed in him by the Governor through display of integrity competence and love for the grassroots.
The Forum, which passed a vote of confidence on the ASOPADEC GM and Mayor of Ukwa West for embarking on people-oriented projects, noted that the Otti led administrative has demonstrated strong commitment to the massive development of the whole of Abia State.
It applauded Ven. Dr. Joshua Onyeike for his performance so far in spearheading infrastructure and human capital development, not only in Ukwa West, but across Abia State, adding that his proactive leadership at ASOPADEC has positively repositioned the Commission to deliver great benefits to the State.
“The ASOPADEC GM has made tangible progress in road construction and rehabilitation, agriculture, community water projects, electricity, youth training initiatives, and education”, the Group said.
The statement described Dr. Joshua O. Onyeike as a silent achiever, visionary leader, whose efforts are already transforming neglected communities and restoring public trust in government institutions.
“His accessibility, humility, and results-driven approach have earned him the admiration of both the youth and elders within the local government”, the group added.
Finally, the Ozar Zone Presidential Youth Forum reiterated its unwavering support for Governor Alex Otti, Ven. Dr. Joshua O. Onyeike and Pst. Dike Briggs Nwankwo, and encouraged them to continue on the path of progressive governance. They, also, called on all stakeholders, sons and daughters of Asa land to rally behind this new wave of transformation, noting that unity and sustained support were keys to attracting even more dividends of democracy to the area.
