Abia Lawmaker Adiele Empowers 21 Constituents With Financial Support, As University Don Eleogu Advises Beneficiaries To Invest Money Into Their Businesses

The member representing Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Anyamagiobi Adiele, on Monday at his country home in Obokwe, Asa, gave out the sum of Four Hundred Thousand naira only each to 21 members of his constituency to boost their already existing businesses.

In his opening speech, Adiele said he considered it necessary to support some up-coming businesses in Ukwa West through financial assistance instead of distributing bags of rice that would not have long-lasting impact.

He explained that 21 male and female petty business owners were chosen from among the ten political wards in Ukwa West for the empowerment, stressing that there was no way the money could reach everyone.

The Honourable member emphasised the need for the beneficiaries to use the money given to them wisely.

A University don, Dr. Eleogu Lucky Nkem was on hand to give some financial advise to the beneficiaries. He highlighted the need for accurate record-keeping to track business progress and ensure sustainability.

According to him, if the money is well managed, it would be a matter of time for the beneficiaries to grow their enterprises, and eventually empower others in the community.

Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were the President General of Asa Development Union (ADU), Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju, former Sole Administrator of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Barrister Henry Chilaka, former Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa, former Councillor of Ukwa West Legislative Council, Hon. Ndubuisi Enyioko and Chief Quentin Nhiaraonye (Omereoha), a business mogul.
