The Asa Think Tank, on Saturday, continued its political sensitisation tour across the Wards in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It should be recalled that the Asa Think Tank Group was established by the Asa Development Union, (ADU), the apex socio-cultiral organisation in Ukwa West, to develop a strategic blueprint of how to ensure that Ukwa West remains politically relevant in the developmental trajectory of the Nigerian State.
The first port of call was the country home of the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna at Owaza, Ipu West Ward, before the Group proceeded to the palace of HRM Eze Levi Obioma Nworgu, where the traditional ruler and his council of Chiefs, and HRH Eze Ikemefula Ukaegbu Ezere, the traditional ruler of Isietitioha autonomous community, Owaza, warmly received the Group led by Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu. The Group later moved to the Owaza Town Hall, where a large gathering of women, men, youths and elders of the Community was informed that the ADU had mandated the Group to champion the message that an Ukwa West Indigene should be supported for the House of Representatives seat during the 2027 elections.

At Okohia and Isi-Obuzor autonomous communities, the Group received Royal blessings from HRH Eze Godwin Ukanna and HRM Eze Onyemauwa Nwagbara. The sensitisation tour continued with the people at Uzuaku and Umuelechi Town Halls.

The highlights of the tour were the excitement expressed by the people upon receiving the message that in 2027, an Ukwa West Indigene must be given full backing to clinch the House of Representatives seat. Comnunity leaders pledged their total support to the Asa Think Tank Group in chieving its goal, stressing that only an Ukwa West candidate must be supported for the House of Representatives seat in 2027.
