University Don, Chris Nwagboso Blames Governors, Not Tinubu For Poor Living Standards Of Nigerians

A renowned lecturer of the University of Calabar, Dr. Chris Nwagboso has blamed state governors for the poor standard of living of Nigerians, arguing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not be blamed.

He stated that Tinubu has implemented economic policies and programmes to enhance the living standard of Nigerians but the Governors have continued to sabotage the efforts.

Writing in an online platform on Monday, Nwagboso pointed out that since the inception of the administration of Tinubu, states and local governments have continued to receive humongous statutory allocations, but unfortunately, the efforts of the President was being grossly sabotaged by some state Governors.

Nwagboso, who is currently the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Kritznely Farms Limited, said, “In Abia State, those who questioned some acclaimed expenditure framework of government are currently being dragged to court. Such executive rascality and adoption of anti democratic approach to clamp-down dissenting voices in Abia State appears plausible.

He added that silencing the voice of the opposition often leads to violent demonstrations and protests in many societies.

The lecturer emphasised that in some States, the level of development does not match the billions of naira allocated from the Federation Account, describing it as gross betrayal of Mr President’s trust.
