Military Jet Crash: Deputy Speaker, Kalu Mourns Victims, Commiserates With President Tinubu, NAF

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, has expressed shock and profound sadness over the crash of a military jet in Igbokoda, Ondo State on Monday, which reportedly claimed the lives of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel and crew members on board.

In a condolence message, Kalu commiserated with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, and the families of the victims.

He described the incident as a national tragedy and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

While calling for a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the crash, the Deputy Speaker pledged the support of the Parliament in strengthening measures to prevent future air disasters.

Kalu prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
