Ukwa West Executive Chairman Nwankwo Condemns Recent Brutal Killing Of Okada Rider In Obehie

The Executive Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government, Hon. Pst. Dike Briggs Nwankwo, has received with unacceptable shock and grave concern the disturbing report of the brutal killing of one Mr Chukwudi Emezuruike, a motorcycle operator in Obehie community on the night of Friday, March 27, 2026.

Preliminary reports indicate that the assailants, who disguised as passengers, carried out this heinous act before fleeing with the victim’s motorcycle. This barbaric incident is strongly condemned in its entirety.

The Executive Chairman wishes to assure the good people of Ukwa West that this local government is not, and will never become, a haven for criminal elements. Ukwa West remains a peaceful and law-abiding society, and any attempt to disrupt this peace will be decisively confronted.

The office of the Mayor is already in advanced and coordinated engagement with relevant security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice. Measures are also being intensified to strengthen security surveillance and response across all communities.

The Executive Chairman calls on residents to remain vigilant and cooperative with security authorities by providing any useful information that can aid ongoing investigations.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire Obehie community over this painful loss.

The safety of our people remains a top priority, and we will not relent in safeguarding lives and property within Ukwa West.
