Federal Lawmaker, Nkwonta Hosts APC Stakeholders, Calls For Peaceful, Transparent Party Congress In Ukwa Federal Constituency

The member representing Ukwa East /Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Chris Nkwanta, on Saturday at his country home at Akwete, Ndoki, played host to key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukwa Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming party congress.

According to a press release by his legislative assistant, Comrade O.P. Ifeanyichukwu, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, the lawmaker urged party leaders and members to ensure peaceful, transparent, and hitch-free exercise across the twenty INEC-recognised wards in the constituency.

He charged ward and local government party leaders to conduct the congresses in their respective wards with a high sense of responsibility, and in line with the constitution of the APC Constitution, rules, and guidelines.

Nkwonta emphasised that transparency and inclusiveness were critical to strengthening internal democracy and sustaining party cohesion in Ukwa.

Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba commended Hon. Nkwonta’s leadership acumen and his visible and impactful contributions to the growth of the APC in Ukwa. He particularly appreciated the foresight in convening the stakeholders’ meeting in the collective interest of the party and pledged his unwavering support toward initiatives aimed at strengthening the APC in Ukwa Federal Constituency and Abia State at large.

In his own speech, former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Abia State, lauded the commitment and leadership of Hon. Nkwonta, who serves as Chairman, House Committee on the South East Development Commission (SEDC). He moved a vote of confidence in the lawmaker, describing him as an exceptional and unifying leader whose efforts have significantly strengthened the APC family in the Constituency.
