Deputy Speaker, Kalu Urges South East To Invest Votes For Real Political Returns

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has called on the people of the South East to strategically invest their votes where they will yield meaningful political returns.

Kalu made this call in Enugu, on Saturday, during the South East All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting, where he emphasized the importance of political strategy, unity, and alliance-building in national politics.

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Speaker stressed the urgent need for cohesion across the Southern political corridor as the APC works to consolidate the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to him, politics is fundamentally a game of numbers and strategy, and the South East must position itself wisely to secure long-term political relevance and benefits.

He noted that by standing firmly with President Tinubu and strengthening ties with the South West, the South East would be fostering trust, alliances, and reciprocity, which he described as key elements that would help place the region at the centre of national decision-making in the future.

Kalu also commended APC governors in the South East for their dedication to deepening the party’s presence in the region. He urged party leaders and stakeholders to mobilise massively for the ongoing APC e-registration and the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercises.
