2027 Elections: Asa North, Obokwe Wards Pledge Support for ADU’s Call For Unanimous Ukwa West Candidate For House of Representatives

The people of Asa North and Obokwe Wards in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia, on Saturday, pledged their support for the Asa Development Union, (ADU), and its call for a unified Ukwa West candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives elections.

Speaking during the sensitisation tour of the Asa North and Obokwe Wards in the Asa Group Zone of Ukwa West, community and women leaders of the area affirmed their willingness to stand behind any Ukwa West Indigene endorsed by the ADU for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency seat.

They, however, appealed to the Asa Think Tank set up by the ADU to streamline electoral activities in Ukwa West in such a way that an Ukwa West indigene will emerge victorious for the HoR seat in 2027.

The tour kicked off at the country home of Hon. Godwin Anyamigiobi Adiele in Obokwe, Asa, from where the members moved in a motorcade to the palace of HRH Eze Evans Nwabueze Okere (Eze Isi Asa 1 of Isi Asa Autonomous Community). The Eze, his Cabinet Members and people of Umuiku Isi Asa, received the Group, assuring of their support and solidarity towards ensuring that an Asa man becomes the member representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.

At both the Obingwu and Obokwe Town Halls, the people expressed their commitment to the goals and aspirations of the leadership of the ADU, particularly regarding the political imbalance between Ukwa West and Ukwa East on HoR’s position.

The Think Tank Group earlier paid courtesy visits to HRH Eze Isi Asa 1 of Isi Asa autonomous community, Evans Nwabueze Okere and Okwe 1 of Obokwe autonomous community, HRH Eze Loveday Okwuonu Chigbu.
