2027 Elections: Hopes Rise For Ukwa West Indigene To Represent Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency As Asa Development Union Think Tank Commences Sensitisation Tour in Ozaa Zone

The prospects of an indigene of Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State brightened on Saturday as the Asa Development Union’s Think Tank led by Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, commenced its sensitisation tour with a successful outreach in the Ozar Ukwu and Ozaa West Wards of Ozaa Zone.

The Think Tank Group, which paid courtesy visits to the Chairman of Ukwa West Council of Traditional Rulers, the Isi 1 of Isimanu Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Augustine Chinyere Dike and Ugwumba 1 of Ndidar Ozaa, HRH Eze Samuel Agu, who was graciously joined by HRH Eze Jackson Nwosu of Isiala Nteke, explained to the Royal Fathers that the Group visited to seek their support for the actualisation of their goal of ensuring that an Ukwa West indigene represents the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027 in line with fairness and justice.

During the interactive sessions at the Umuadienwe and Ikpokwu civic halls in Ozaa Zone, the Asa Think Tank Group lamented the current situation whereby their sister local government area, Ukwa East, has occupied the House of Representatives seat for nearly twenty years, contrary to the previously agreed rotational arrangement between them and Ukwa West.

Speakers from the three political blocs in Ukwa West urged the people to put aside bitterness and internal divisions, stressing that unity was crucial for achieving political equity between Ukwa East and Ukwa West. They highlighted the need for comprehensive reconciliation among individuals who may have been offended during past political processes, adding that healing and collaboration were essential to building the political synergy needed to foster unity of purpose and strengthen the collective drive toward equitable representation in 2027.
