Former Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Tony Mezie Nwubani, has reaffirmed his intention to run for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West House of Representatives seat in 2027 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Addressing a large gathering of APC members, on Monday, during the Ozaa Ukwu Ward meeting held at his country home at Umunteke, Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Nwubani emphasised that he had accumulated extensive legislative experience at both the local government and state levels to represent Ukwa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
He said his over twenty years political and social engagements with the grassroots have exposed him to the real aspirations of his people, adding that he was best positioned to represent the Ukwa East/Ukwa East Federal Constituency at House of Representatives.

Nwubani, who, highlighted the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to alleviate the economic challenges of Nigerians, reminded the party loyalists that the constituency has been represented by individuals from Ukwa East for almost twenty years against the understanding between Asa and Ndoki that each bloc would hold the office for two tenures of eight years. He appealed to the people to give him support, adding that since the majority of Asa people have said it is the turn of Ukwa West to go to the Federal House, he considers himself capable, prepared, and fully equipped to represent the Federal Constituency.

Speakers at the occasion, which had in attendance the Ukwa West APC Chairman, Elder Kenneth Uju Nwarie and Ozaa Ukwu Ward Chairman, Mr. Levi Dike, applauded the accomplishments of Hon. Nwubani as a legislator, and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver dividends of democracy to his people.

At the sidelines of the event, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, Ozaa APC leader, commended Nwubani for his courage and commitment to the APC, describing his declaration as a positive step toward strengthening the party’s presence in the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency.
