The Ozaa West Ward of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, on Monday, at the country home of Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, in Ikpokwu, Asa, held an extraordinary meeting to strategise on consolidating the party’s grassroots strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his welcome address, Hon Ezedinachi Kanu, who thanked the members for honouring the invitation for the meeting, emphasized the importance of building the party continously in their Ward. He noted that strengthening the APC’s base in Ozaa West was crucial to securing electoral victories in future elections.
“The stronger we are, the easier it will be for us to win elections when the time comes,” he said.
He expressed the need for them to embark on another round of village rotational meetings since they have successfully completed the first one.
The meeting which attracted members from all the seven villages in the Ward, unanimously agreed to commence the second phase of the rotational meetings with Umuorie village as the starting point.
Highlights of the meeting were the visits of former Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Tony Mezie Nwubani, and Chief Ikechukwu Christian Nmenme, who declared their intentions to contest for the House of Representatives and House of Assembly seats respectively in the 2027 elections.
