Former NDDC Director, Chief Dr. Uche Nwele, Set to Join Labour Party During Governor Alex Otti’s Visit to Ukwa West

As Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti prepares to visit Ukwa West Local Government Area on Friday, former Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Director of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Women Affairs, Chief Dr. Uche Nwele, is set to officially join the Labour Party (LP).

Chief Nwele, who served as a pioneer director at the NDDC, has finalized plans to declare his defection to the Labour Party at his ward, Ipu West, before extending the move to the local government level.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the respected community leader and technocrat confirmed that his decision followed extensive consultations and a strong conviction in the developmental agenda of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

According to him, he was particularly inspired by the reconstruction of the Obehie–Umudobia–Owaza road, which passes in front of country home at Owaza, along with several other impactful projects being implemented under Governor Otti’s leadership.

Chief Nwele is expected to bring his vast experience in governance, community leadership, and public administration to bear in advancing the goals of the Labour Party both at the grassroots and state levels.

This development marks another significant boost for the Labour Party in Abia State, as the party continues to attract high-profile technocrats and political stakeholders aligned with Governor Otti’s vision of infrastructural transformation.
