WTO DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Commends President Tinubu For Economic Stability

The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing reforms aimed at stabilizing Nigeria’s economy. She said the administration’s policies were moving in the right direction toward economic recovery and growth.

Speaking to State House correspondents on Thursday after a courtesy visit to the President, Okonjo-Iweala revealed that their meeting focused on the launch of a landmark initiative — the Women Exporters Fund for the Digital Economy.

The WTO chief commended Tinubu’s administration for achieving initial economic stability through its reforms.

However, Okonjo-Iweala emphasized that stability must now be followed by sustained growth and strong social safety nets to cushion the effects of economic reforms on vulnerable Nigerians.
