ASOPADEC Donates Desks and Tables to Schools in Ukwa West, Abia State.
The Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC) has continued its efforts to improve education infrastructure by donating 60 desks and 20 tables to Mbano Central School, Umuekechi, Asa and Owaza Central School, both located in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to a statement from the Information Unit of the Commission, the General Manager of ASOPADEC, Venerable Dr. Joshua Onyeike, emphasized that the donation was in response to the dire need for desks and tables in the benefiting schools. He noted that such essential learning materials are critical to fostering effective teaching and learning in public schools.
Speaking through Mrs. Ihuoma Onuegbu, Director of the Education Unit at ASOPADEC, Dr. Onyeike revealed that the initiative aligns with the education-focused agenda of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, who is committed to improving the quality of education across the state.
Dr. Onyeike further assured that more schools in Abia State, especially those in oil-producing areas, would benefit from similar educational support in the near future. He encouraged the students to make proper use of the desks and tables, and urged them to remain dedicated to their academic pursuits.
Receiving the donated furniture, Mrs. John Ihuoma, Headmistress of Mbano Central School, and Mrs. Nwankwo Goodnews, Headmistress of Owaza Central School, expressed their profound appreciation to ASOPADEC and Governor Alex Otti for their continued support and for prioritizing quality education and good governance in the state.
