Commissioner For Environment, Ogbonna, Hails Abia Governor, Otti On 2nd Anniversary, Describes Him As Trail Blazer, Great Achiever

The Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, has congratulated the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, on the occasion of his second anniversary in office.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Ministry of Environment on Tuesday, Ogbonna praised Governor Otti’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to reshaping Abia State’s environmental landscape.

He said, “under your guidance, Abia has experienced a remarkable renaissance, particularly in the cities of Aba and Umuahia, which now proudly wear a new face of cleanliness, order, and ecological rejuvenation. Aba, once overwhelmed by environmental filth and neglect, now stands as a beacon of urban renewal.”

The Commissioner said Governor Otti’s decisive actions have restored the dignity of Aba through extensive desilting of drainage systems, proper waste management and a comprehensive sanitation campaign that has brought both aesthetic and health benefits to the town.

Continuing Ogbonna said, “In Umuahia, the state capital, we have also witnessed a transformation marked by beautification projects and environmental enforcement initiatives that have elevated the city’s status and livability.”

The Commissioner reaffirmed his Ministry’s full support for the Governor, pledging continued collaboration to sustain current achievements and advance a healthier, greener Abia for future generations.
