The Ukwa West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a high-level stakeholders meeting on Thursday, expressing profound appreciation to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Commissioner for Abia State, Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba, for their continued support in strengthening the party’s presence in Ukwa West Local Government Area.
The meeting, held at the APC Secretariat in Obehie, highlighted the party’s growing unity and capacity, with leaders emphasizing the importance of grassroots mobilization and infrastructure development at the ward level.
Dr. Eruba Dimgba, addressing attendees, stated that the APC in Ukwa West is more vibrant and united than ever, crediting the renewed momentum to the strategic intervention of Deputy Speaker Kalu. He explained that Kalu had observed dwindling activity within the party and proactively initiated a revival effort by empowering local chapters and promoting regular stakeholder engagement.
Dr. Dimgba also reinforced the Deputy Speaker’s assurance that committed and loyal APC members will be duly rewarded, encouraging party leaders to remain focused and avoid internal conflicts that could undermine the party’s progress.
Abia South APC Chairman, Justice Onwunmelu, praised Dr. Dimgba for his steadfast commitment to the party, urging stakeholders to remain united in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He projected that with sustained grassroots work, APC is poised to take over Abia State in the 2027 general elections.
Earlier, Ward Chairmen across Ukwa West paid tribute to Dr. Dimgba for facilitating the establishment of functional APC Secretariats in all wards, a move that has enhanced party organisation and visibility at the local level.
The well-attended meeting drew prominent party stakeholders, leaders, and grassroots mobilizers from across the local government area, signaling a collective resolve to solidify the APC’s political dominance in Ukwa West.
