A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sir Marc Wabara, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
In a statement on Monday, Wabara described the creation of the SEDC as a historic step towards addressing the long-standing needs of the South East. He stated that the Commission would provide the much-needed reconstruction and rehabilitation of the region, which has suffered significant deprivations for many years.
Wabara also commended President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, particularly the political will and courage in removing the fuel subsidy. Whilst acknowledging the short term challenges Nigerians are facing, he highlighted that the financial gains being reinvested into critical sectors of the economy are necessary for medium and long term sustainable economic development.
He further noted that the recent wave of defections of influencial politicians from opposition parties to the ruling APC are manifestations of the continued support to the policies of government and the visionary leadership of President Tinubu and his commitment to restore the economic fortunes of Nigeria to the highest level in the comity of nations.
“President Tinubu, under his Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on Nigeria’s future and prosperity”, he concluded.
