Former Labour Party (LP) candidate for the Ukwa West State Constituency in Abia State, Chief Anselm Eletuo, has announced plans to commission a state-of-the-art E-Library in memory of his late father, Sir Chief Christopher Sunday Nwuju Eletuo, ahead of the funeral slated for Friday, May 9, 2025.
In a press statement released on Tuesday, Chief Eletuo described his late father as a pillar of community development and educational advancement in Owaza, Ukwa West LGA. He noted that the E-Library is a lasting monument to honour his father’s remarkable contributions and lifelong commitment to learning.
“My father’s legacy in education and community service deserves to be immortalised. The E-Library will serve as a symbol of his passion for knowledge and development”, Eletuo said.
Sir Chief Christopher Sunday Nwuju Eletuo, who passed away at the age of 86, was a revered figure in Abia State. He was the Traditional Prime Minister of Isi Etitioha Owaza Autonomous Community and a Knight of Saint Christopher of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
Pa Eletuo had a rich career that spanned both the private and public sectors. He served as a Senior Manager at Aba Textile Mill Plc before resigning in 1990 to dedicate himself to community service. His commitment to education led him to serve as Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Owaza Secondary School for over three decades — a position he held until his passing.
He was also a Customary Court Chairman in the Abia State Judiciary, known for his fairness, wisdom, and dedication to justice.
The soon-to-be-commissioned E-Library project is expected to provide digital learning resources to students and researchers in Ukwa West and beyond. It will stand as a center for knowledge, innovation, and academic excellence, reflecting Pa Eletuo’s enduring legacy as an advocate for education and youth empowerment.
Chief Eletuo invites well-wishers, community members, and dignitaries to attend the funeral service on Friday, May 9, 2025, as they celebrate the life of a father, mentor, and leader whose footprints remain visible across Ukwa West and Abia State.
