It was a joyous moment for Asa people in Ukwa West Local Government area, the oil producing area of the State as the people gathered with friends, business, political and religious associates to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the General Manager of Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC) Dr. Joshua Ogadinma Onyeike and applaud his developmental strides in the oil, producing communities and beyond.
Speaking during a birthday ceremony organized by the family, friends and associates of the General Manager at his country home, Rainbow Court Umunteke Ukwa West on Thursday 6th of March,2025 a foremost woman political leader in the State from Ukwa Land precisely, Dame Victoria Akanwa, Former Secretary to the State Government, Pastor Ralph Egbu, former Commissioner in the State, Chief Stanley Eche congratulated Dr. Onyeike on his exploits in life, including his strides as the General Manager of ASOPADEC, and wished him many more years of celebrations, blessings, and protection from God.
Also speaking, former member that represented Ukwa West Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Ngozi Ulunwa, former Chairman Ukwa West LGA, Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo current Chairman of Ukwa East LGA Chief Chibunna Akara represetented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Justice Nwaubani describe the celebrant, Dr. Onyeike as a proud son of Ukwa land who has demonstrated visionary leadership, integrity and commitment to the development of the area and urged other political office holders to emulate his leadership style for total transformation of the area.
On their own, the President of Asa Development Union, the apex socio cultural organization in Ukwa Land, Chief Goodluck Nwauju represented by the Secretary sir, Boniface Nwaigwe, The Cordinator of Abia Arise, Chief Anele Azu Commended Governor Alex Otti for the appointment of Dr. Onyeike as the General Manager of ASOPADEC pointing out that he has shown competence and diligence in the discharge of his duties citing the on-going construction of Asa Civic hall abandoned over the years, the reconstruction of roads, markets and hospitals as some of the out-standing developmental projects that have endeared the General Manager to the people.
In a toast, the wife of the celebrant, Evangelist Mrs Helen Onyeike thanked God for the life of the husband and expressed her deep love for him as her king while thanking all that joined her family to celebrate the husband.
The celebrant, Dr. Onyeike said he was filled with joy to be celebrated in such an elaborate ceremony that attracted people from various places and expressed gratitude to all praying God to bless them.
Highlight of the occasion were cutting of cake and special prayers for the family of the celebrant. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including management of ASOPADEC, Community Development Coordinators of Ukwa LGA, and various groups.
