The Ozar Ukwu and Ozar West chapters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, on Monday, at the country home of their leader, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, at Ikpokwu, Asa, held a combined meeting of the critical stakeholders, who identified unity as the key to winning any elections.

The meeting further identified lack of love among members as one of the major reasons responsible for working against each other, which leads to divisions and stagnation in the party.

The stakeholders, who resolved to be intentional and deliberate in making love a watchword, highlighted the urgent need for grassroots mobilisation to attract more members to the APC.

Welcoming the stakeholders drawn from the 14 villages that make up the Ozar Ukwu and Ozar West Wards, otherwise known as Ozar Zone, Kanu explained that some villages had more stakeholders than others because they had more people that had either held political positions or contested elections for political offices.

He commended the commitment of members towards the continuous growth of the APC, adding that the meeting would rotate quarterly across the zone to consolidate the party and make it enticing to non-members.

Kanu assured the new members of their rightful place in the party and reminded the old ones of the need for them to avoid feeling threatened, as all members would be treated fairly. He pointed out that a large number of people would always remain the strength of any political party.

Other stakeholders who spoke including former Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Tony Mezie Nwubani, Ukwa West APC Chairman, Elder Uju Nwarie, former Senatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Chief Signor Kanu, Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, Newsportal Ltd, Chief ThankGod Ntaku, Chief Emeka Nwaoha and Chief Chima Koko cautioned on the dangers of discrimination within the APC, allowing outside forces to disintegrate the party, and reiterated the place of love and mass mobilisation in moving the party forward. They revealed that with unity of purpose and a sense of direction, nothing that is due the Wards in the party would elude them.

The steering Committee, which was ratified by the stakeholders, has Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu as Chairman, Hon.
