Asa Development Union Constitutes Committees For Strategic Goals, Passes Vote Of Confidence On Ukwa West Political Office Holders

The Asa Development Union, ADU, the apex socio-cultural organisation in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, on Saturday at the Chyvik Model Secondary School, Obehie, constituted nine committees to serve as special vehicles for achieving strategic goals for the union.

The Union, which also passed a vote of confidence on all the Ukwa West sons holding political positions, used the Consultative General Assembly to brief members on issues affecting them, ranging from the Enyimba Economic City, which has been revoked by the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, the revival of the Asa Development Union, Aba branch, to the setting up of a technical committee for the restoration of electricity.

The Strategic Committees, which were announced by the Acting President General of the Union, Barrister G.O.C. Ihenkor are on Education and Scholarship Renaissance, with Dr. Chibuike Emma Kanu, as Chairman, and Mr. Chibuike Alozie as Secretary; Technical Committee on Projects Monitoring and Actualisation, Engr. Ogbonna Nwoke, Chairman, Arch. David Akoma, Secretary; Committee on Asa Political Advancement, Integration and Interest Harmonisation, Elder Eze Idima, Chairman, Sir. Boniface Nwaigwe, Secretary; Committee on Media, Publicity and Protocols, Mr. ThankGod Ntaku, Chairman, O. P Ifeanyichukwu, Secretary and Advisory Committee on Asa People Welfare, Economic, Corporate matters and Empowerment, Mr. Signor Kanu, Chairman, Dr. Lucky N. Eleogu, Secretary.

Others are the Committee on Security Matters and Conflict Resolution, Dr. Samuel E. C Nwosu, Chairman, Mr. Godwin Añuruegbe, Secretary; Committee on External and Governmental Affairs, Associate Prof. Dike N. Onwubiko, Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa, Secretary; Committee on Land Surveillance, Acquisitions Control and Protection, Dr. Ibe Ememe, Chairman, Barr. Munachiso Eze Nwosuegbe, Secretary and Committee on Asa Day Celebration, 2024, Pst. Raph Egbu, Chairman, Hon. Chetachi Ahukanna, Secretary.
