The former of the Abia State House of Assembly that represented the Ukwa West State Constituency, Hon. Chimezie Nwubani, on Wednesday, at the Ozar Ukwu Ward of the Ukwa West Local Government Area in Abia State, defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Nwubani, who was a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, during the ceremony marking his defection said the good policies of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration motivated his decision to join the ruling party.
He said he was particularly impressed that the President reappointed Chief Eruba Dimgba as the Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
Nwubani disclosed that it was time for him to play national politics having served Abia State as a Councillor and two-term member of the House of Assembly.
He pledged to support the APC, adding that he would ensure that the party wins future elections in his Ward.
Welcoming the former PDP stalwart, the Chairman of Ozar Ukwu Ward, Levi Dike, stated the defection was timely, and urged him to remain loyal.
The highlight of the occasion was the issuance of APC membership card to the former member, House of Assembly.
