Former State Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State Chief Ogunka Adiele John has congratulated the National Welfare Secretary of the party, Chief (Hon.) Donatus Nwankpa.
It should be recalled that Nwankpa was recently appointed by the National Working Committee of the APC to replace late Sir Friday Nwosu, who was the National Welfare Secretary from the South East Zone of the party.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ogunka John stated that the appointment of Nwankpa was well deserved, as he had paid his dues in the party, having led the Abia State chapter of the APC for more than eight years.
He said he was optimistic that Nwankpa, who was a former Minority leader of the Abia State House of Assembly from the defunct ANPP, would bring his experience as a former legislator and seasoned party administrator to bear positively on the fortunes of APC.
Ogunka John also said, “I believe that the APC in Abia State will witness a turn around for good, as a man that understands its basic challenges, and how to bring about an enduring peace and steady progress has become part of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.”
He called on Nwankpa not to forget that nothing strengthens a political party better than internal democracy, firmness and fairness in managing all the diverse interests within the party.
