Former Minority Leader in the Ukwa West Legislative Council in Abia State, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu has disclosed that he agreed to be the Director General of the Campaign Council of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri because of his outstanding qualities.
Kanu, who is the Director General of Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri Campaign Council, said that the APC candidate stood out among all those contesting for to represent Ukwa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
In an interview with Newsportal on Tuesday, Kanu said the academic background, enterprise, and humaneness of Okpokiri towers above the credentials being paraded by other candidates, adding that he believes strongly in the most competent, most credible and most eligible candidate to represent the people of Ukwa.
“I am a trained teacher, and we love in promoting the interests of honest and intelligent children at all times. I have seen in Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri, the APC candidate for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, the qualities that Ukwa needs at this critical stage of its development”, he added.
Kanu also said that the deprivations that the people of Ukwa were suffering required someone who would not be intimidated by the caliber of other members and Senators in the National Assembly, stressing that only the courageous imbued with intelligence is best suited for Ukwa people.
He bemoaned the marginalisation of Ukwa, and called on Ukwa people to vote for Okpokiri so that the myriad of challenges facing the people can be frontally addressed.
