The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Thursday, at Abuja handed over certificate of return to Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu as the duly elected Chairman of the Abia State APC.
Ononogbu was elected by the High Chief Ikechi Emenike led faction of the Abia State APC, through a special Congress to replace the late Enyinnaya Harbour.
Meanwhile, the Chairman elected by the Hon. Donatus Nwankpa led faction, Hon. Iheanacho Obioma, has appealed to loyal party members to remain focused and resolute to ensure electoral victory of APC in Abia State in 2023.
In a statement, Obioma, said:
“What happened today cannot stand the test of time. As there was no inauguration but only mere certificates issued to some few members which is totally different from proper/official inauguration as usually done for new executives.
‘”We are also aware of the shenanigans of few members of the party who want to use the issuance of certificate to lay claim to the leadership of Abia APC with the help of few Caretaker Committee members whom have not hidden their bias on Abia APC leadership crisis as they have always broken the law to satisfy the wishes of their friends.
“We therefore call on all ABIA APC members to remain focused and resolute as we are working hard to ensure that APC is not lost to those whom we have always won.”
