A university don, Dr. Lucky Eleogu, has described the performance of Hon. Godwin Anyamagiobi Adiele, the lawmaker representing Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, as a case study in effective legislative representation.
Dr. Eleogu, a Senior Lecturer at the Nigerian British University, Asa, made the remarks on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, praising Adiele’s achievements in infrastructure development, community empowerment, and legislative advocacy.
According to Eleogu, “the performance of Honourable Godwin Anyamagiobi Adiele, the distinguished member representing Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, speaks volumes about what he termed,” philosophy of practical representation.”
He enumerated Adiele’s projects across Ukwa West to include: the modern market constructed at Obehie daily Market, the tiling of Amaukwu Ezi Hall at Ozaa, Installation of Concrete Electric LT Poles at Umuko- Ugwati for electricity extension to the rural villages, the borehole installation at Owo Ala Asa, the ceiling of Nkpukwe – Umuekechi Hall, and the four-classroom block at Obuzor, the ongoing Civic Centre at Obokwe and road initiative linking Porthcarcourt to ABA Expressway to Obiakpu Community.
Eleogu further highlighted other achievements of the lawmaker ranging from support of the federal government’s approval of a modular refinery within the oil producing areas, raising several motions on the floor of the House of Assembly, with some culminating into the restoration of peace to Owaza, Okohia and Asa land when three soldiers were killed to moving a motion for the retrofitting of Owaza Cottage Hospital.
“Hon. Adiele’s bill on Local Content has passed second and third reading on the floor of the State House of Assembly, but halted by the Abia State Government”, he added.
