The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 44-year-old businessman, Ezemokwe Chukwuebuka Christian, at Port Harcourt International Airport for ingesting 53 wraps of cocaine while attempting to board a flight to Tehran, Iran.
According to a statement released on Sunday, June 15, 2025, by Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media & Advocacy, Ezemokwe was apprehended on Saturday while trying to board Qatar Airways flight QR1434 en route to Tehran via Doha. A body scan conducted by NDLEA operatives tested positive for ingestion of illicit substances. He was subsequently placed under observation, during which he excreted 53 wraps of cocaine in six separate bowel movements, totaling 1.172 kilograms.
The suspect confessed to joining the drug trafficking trade two years ago and has allegedly been operating between West Africa and Iran since then.
