Abia State born paralympics athlete, Esther Ogechika Nworgu has won a gold medal at the ongoing second edition of the National Para Games taking place at Abuja.
She lifted a total of 112 kilograms to win the medal.
The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh had, during a briefing in Abuja said:
“The National Para Games is not just about competition and winning medals.
“It is a platform to showcase the incredible talent and determination of our athletes with disabilities. We are confident that this event will unearth new stars who will go on to achieve great things for the nation on the international stage”
The competition which took off on December 8 will last till December 14, 2023.
