A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sir Marc Inyanagbo Wabara has congratulated former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akapbio on his emergence as the President of Nigeria’s 10th Senate.
Akpabio, who represents Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, secured the votes of 63 Senators to defeat his only rival Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State.
In a congratulatory message on Tuesday, Wabara expressed confidence that Akpabio’s position would serve as a beacon of hope and light for Nigeria as a multi-ethnic entity.
He praised the new Senate President for having passion for an egalitarian society, adding that the development marks a positive movement towards a collective Nigeria.
Wabara said he was certain that Akpabio would bring his wealth of experiences as a State Commissioner, Governor, and Minister to bear on the process of continuously building a strong and virile Nigeria.
He wished the new leadership of the Senate success as it takes up the challenges and responsibilities of their exalted offices.
