The Coalition of National Interest Defenders has alleged that the State Security Services, SSS, has planned to frame the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele for terrorism financing.
In a press conference, the Coordinator of the Coalition, Tochukwu Ohazurike, said they had discovered a plot by the Security Agency to frame the CBN Governor for terrorism financing, abduct him and keep away for at least 60 days in solitary confinement.
Ohazurike stated that the aim of the plot to kidnap the CBN Governor was to destabilise the implementation of the new currency redesign and cash limit policies.
According to the Coordinator of the Coalition, “We are in awe why the head of a security Agency, like the State Security Services would be against a policy that will help to fight banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, all forms of insecurity in our country actually, bribery and corruption, money laundering, vote buying and all other economic crimes.
“We cannot fathom the reasons behind all these acts of sabotage; only a thorough investigation can unveil these reasons.”
