The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections, Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri has called on the people of the Constituency to vote for him as he is the candidate that should be trusted to give Ukwa it’s pride of place in national politics.
He advised them not to allow those with shallow understanding of how to positively reposition Ukwa to take the centre stage of Ukwa politics, stressing that only a candidate with great vision and commitment to the dream of his people can deliver dividend of democracy to them.
Okpokiri, who stated these in an interactive session on Thursday with critical political stakeholders in the Ogwe Ward of Ukwa West Local Government Area assured them that he would make Ukwa political bloc proud if voted for in 2023 general elections.
He said:
“I am the candidate who you should trust. I don’t have any baggages. I have never stood in the way of any Asa man before to prevent him or her from achieving his political ambition. I am not struggling to clear my name from any form of illegal activity. I have chosen the path of hardwork from childhood. You can trust me to change the socio-economic and political narratives of our people.”
The House of Representatives candidate said he would use the law, contacts he has built over time, strength of his character and various institutions of government to empower the people of Ukwa.
Okpokiri further said that he would continue to run a positive campaign, adding that he is not interested in negative issues that other candidates are peddling.
In his words, “At the end of the day, it is for the people to choose who represents them. The greatest statement of democracy is that the people have spoken”.
