The leadership of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, ASOPADEC, on Tuesday, changed hands as former member of the board of the Commission, Barrister Henry Chilaka took over from Emeka Stanley as its Sole Administrator.
It should be recalled that Stanley, who was appointed as Sole Administrator by the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, last year held sway at the Commission for 13 months.
Chilaka served on the board of the Commission for some years, and at one time was appointed its Sole Administrator, a responsibility he discharged creditably according to reports.
He hails from Ugwati in Asa South Ward of the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.
The hand over ceremony attracted many dignitaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ukwa, among whom were; former member of the defunct Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission, OMPADEC, Sir Esiaba Iwezor, former Abia State Commissioner, Chief Ikpechukwu Onuoha, Deputy Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Chief John Ajuzieogu and the Ukwa West Chairman of the party, Kingsley Enyite.
