BREAKING: Umunneochi Youths In Abia State Protest Against Incessant Kidnapping, Give Army 7 Days Notice To Vacate Base

Some youths of the Umunneochi Community in Abia State on Tuesday took to the streets to protest against the increasing rate of kidnapping in the area.

The youths numbering more than one hundred have also demanded that the military base at Lomara junction be relocated.

One of the youths who was among the protesters, Ogbuehi Chukwu Chibuikem from Amuda Community, alleged that the kidnappers were carrying out their criminal activities with soldiers posted to the Lomara junction.

The youths, who have demanded for the opening of the old Isuochi Road at Ihube, Imo State, also accused both the Local and State government of not doing anything to protect lives and property of the Umunneochi people.

The protesting youths marched to the Umunneochi local government headquarters at Nkwoagu Amuda Isuochi, and proceeded to the Leru junction, along Enugu – Port Harcourt Express Way.
