Abia APC Crisis: Court Adjourns Matter Till March 22

An Abia State High Court, Ukwa Judicial Division, sitting in Aba, on Tuesday, adjourned until March 22, 2022, the matter seeking to resolve the crisis that has enveloped the Abia State All Progressives Congress, APC.

The trial judge, Justice Chibuzor Ahuchaogu adjourned the matter based on a petition against him written by an interested party in the matter.

It should be recalled that Justice Ahuchaogu had, on February 23, 2022, adjourned till March 1, 2022, for ruling on whether the APC at the National level flouted the order of the Court by issuing a certificate of return to Kingsley Ononogbu, elected as Abia State APC Chairman by the High Chief Ikechi Emenike led group.

The claimants in the suit No. HUK/50/2021 are Davies Jumbo, on behalf of himself and all the successful Ward Chairmanship candidates of the Abia State chapter of the APC, Engr. John Nnah, on behalf of himself and all the successful Local Government and State delegates of the Abia State chapter of the APC, Hon. Ikedi Ezekwesiri and Hon. Nnanna Ngwu for themselves and all the statutory delegates of the State Congress of the Abia State APC, while the APC, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman Caretaker / Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, Secretary, Caretaker / Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC, Rt. Hon. Sunny Goli, for himself and representing the members of the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee for Abia State, Rt Hon. Mukter Bajeh, for himself and representing the members of the State Congress Committee for Abia State, Enyinnaya Harbour (now deceased), Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, Hon. Iheanacho Obioma and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Party members loyal to the Hon. Acho Obioma led Abia State APC thronged the Court in their numbers.
