The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike may get a reward of N224 million from Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike for the over 112 illegal refineries discovered in his Local Government Area.
It should be recalled that Wike had, during a meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt with Local Government Area Chairmen and heads of the Security Agencies in Rivers State, pledged to give the sum of two million naira for each illegal refinery identified by any Local Government Chairman.
Nwanosike, who said at the weekend that about 99 per cent of the cooking sites were located in one community called Ogbodo, revealed that the community was close to about 17 Shell lines.
He said: “We have identified over 112 cooking sites. About 99 per cent of them are located in one community called Ogbodo close to about 17 Shell lines. We are taking it head-on. There is no going back until all results are achieved. We will never allow it to happen again”.
